Analysis:
Spyder is not a Telugu film and it has been laced with Tamil flavor right from the first frame. Though Mahesh impresses the audience big time with his performance, most of the episodes lack interesting execution and seems fake. The songs and the action episodes are the huge let down of the first half though an interesting interval episode looks decent.
After a crippled and confused first half, the second half of Spyder struggles hard to sustain. The super natural narration along with the poor execution and the Tamil smell shatters the film completely. The songs are once again a huge letdown once again. The massive action episode during the climax has been ok but it makes no difference. On the whole, the second half of Spyder is a huge letdown.
Performance:
Mahesh Babu looks stupendous on screen and he performed well throughout. However this alone is not enough for the film to win the hearts of the audience. Rakul Preet Singh looks decent in her limited role as she gets restricted to songs. SJ Suryah has been deadly and steals the show with his outstanding performance. All the other actors delivered out their best for the film.
The story of Spyder has an interesting line but the screenplay and the dialogues are the major letdown of the film. The cinematography is an asset for the film and the music looks ok. The editing has been ok and the production values have been lavish. AR Murugadoss steps out with an unconvincing action thriller which will fail to make any impact
Final Word:
Spyder is one of the worst films in the recent times and the movie makes no impact. Mahesh tops the show with his performance but the film tumbles down in all the available ways.
