Rogue Movie Review: Sensational director Puri Jagannadh has been struggling for a massive hit and he pinned massive hopes on his latest outing titled Rogue. Ishaan is making his debut in the lead role in Rogue and Mannara Chopra, Angela are the heroines. Made on a massive budget, Rogue is produced by CR Manohar. Here is the complete review of the movie.
Story:
Rogue is the story of Chanti (Ishaan) who falls in love with Anjali (Angela) who is the sister of the City’s Police Commissioner. Anajli walks out of his life after she gets a better choice suggested by her brother. A planned attack by Chanti leaves a constable Satya (Satya) paralysed and the rest of Rogue is all about what Chanti does to Satya and how he wins his love with Anjali (Mannara). Watch Rogue to know about the rest of the film.
Analysis:
The first half of Rogue has been completely distracting and deviating. A huge focus on the glamorous acts may attract a section of audience however the original plot looks completely outdated. The songs have been shot well and Rogue has a huge dose of commercial elements. The action episodes have been exceptional and on the whole the first half of Rogue looks decent but predictable to the core.
The second half of Rogue too manages to carry the same feel with a predictable plot and an outdated narration. The songs have been shot well and the action episodes impress the audience. Some of the dialogues have been written well by Puri Jagannadh. The pre-climax episodes of Rogue make the film worse and the film ends up on a predictable note. The second half of Rogue is the reason for the film’s downfall.
Performances:
Ishaan makes an impressive and promising debut as an actor. However he needs to improve a lot. He looked decent in the action episodes and his screen presence has been stupendous. Mannara Chopra steps out with a decent performance in the movie and she has been impressive throughout. Angela has been ultra glamorous however she rarely tried to act. With poor expressions, Angela is unbearable. Thakur Anup Singh strikes hard with his performance once again. All the other actors tried their best in their assigned roles.
The story of Rogue offers nothing new and interesting. The screenplay is a huge reason for the film’s downfall and the dialogues penned by Puri have been decent. The cinematography elevated the film well and the music has been pale. The production values looked good. Puri Jagan once again failed in coming out with a fresh and impressive commercial entertainer.
Final Word:
Rogue is one more disappoint from Puri Jagannadh and the movie falls flat at the box-office. Ishaan has been impressive with his debut film and he is here to stay.
Rogue Movie Review Rating: 2.5/5
