Megastar Chiranjeevi is making his comeback to mainstream cinema after a huge gap of nine years and the movie started rolling recently. After a huge search for directors, Megastar voted to VV Vinayak. Chiranjeevi spent two complete years to finalize the script and left with no option, Megastar decided to remake Tamil blockbuster Kaththi. AR Murugadoss directed the movie and it featured Vijay, Samantha in the lead roles. Vinayak took his time to make enough changes for the script to suit the Telugu audience.
The regular shoot of the movie started recently and the first schedule has been wrapped up in which some crucial episodes have been shot. The second schedule of Kathilantodu is being shot in the outskirts of Hyderabad in a hugely erected set. The female lead of the movie is yet to be finalized and Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. There are rumours that Kathilantodu, Khaidi No 150 and Nepolian are the titles under consideration for the movie.
Vinayak has been charging hefty remuneration for his previous movies. He has been offered Rs 10 crores as remuneration for Alludu Sreenu and he charged Rs 12 crores for Akhil’s debut movie Akhil. However he has been offered the East Godavari distribution rights for Kathilantodu as per the news from the sources. The East Godavari rights have been sold out for a price of Rs 5.5 crores which has been quite less when compared to the amounts paid for his previous movies. It has been revealed that Vinayak’s poor track record is a reason and also Megastar’s 150th movie which is a prestigious project made the director compromise on his remuneration. This news created a huge sensation and Vinayak is working hard to bounce back to success track with a massive hit. Ramcharan is producing the movie which is being made on a massive budget and the film will hit the screens during January 2017.
